The timber top is a stunning piece of salvaged Australian Blackbutt hardwood, all the legs and frame have been hand fabricated to custom fit to the size of the reclaimed 35mm thick timbertop.
Australian Blackbutt is a type of native Eucalyptus tree and has warm earthy tones and ranges in colour from golden yellow to pale brown with soft pink elements, it's also extremely durable. Blackbutt has an even texture with a straight grain with gum veins adding another layer of beauty. The timber top was cut from a 2400mm long single rough piece of construction material, undergoing several sanding levels to reveal the timber's hidden beauty. A final 600 grit sanding application and two coats of Australian made Cabots hard waring polyurethane UV resistant finish being applied with a 12 hour drying time between coats with a light sand in between each coat.
The legs have been fitted with flexable rubber feet to ensure stablity and to protect floor areas.
The Hall Table frame has been hand fabricated with 25x25x3.0mm Rectangluar Hollow Section (RHS/SHS) Australian steel sourced from local company Hunter Valley Steel. Two coats of Metal Pro Grey Primer, with corrosion barrier by Dy-Mark, (Austrailan owned and manufactured) was applied to the frame, two to three top coats of Montana Black water based enamel (Germany) and two clear coats of Australian Export clear.
The steel frame has been custom fabricated on site using a Weldskill 135 Mig welding unit from Cigweld and 0.8mm mild steel gasless wire.
An effort has been made to source materials and products locally from the Hunter Valley, and Australian Companies. As the business develops I hope to incrrease the use of local/Australian products.
